The National Monuments Service's description
In rocky upland pasture, on a S-facing slope of the Ox Mountains. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m). Indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map as a semicircular area, represented by a solid line S-NW, abutting the W side of a NW-SE field boundary. The remains consist of a curving field boundary wall at the W end of a rectangular field. The remainder of the enclosure is not visible at ground level. A small D-shaped field is indicated on the 1914 OS 6-inch map immediately to NW in the adjoining field. This survives as an arc W-NNW formed by a derelict stone-faced scarp cut into the upslope and enclosing the SE corner (23m x 14m) of a field. A cashel (SL031-017----) lies c. 50m to NE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
