The National Monuments Service's description
In rough damp pasture, occupying a low rise surrounded on all sides by high ground, mostly rounded hillocks/drumlins and low ridges. There is a stream 100m to W. Views are of the rising slopes of the surrounding hillocks, with a somewhat more open aspect to W along a small valley. A N−S field boundary lies 10m to E of the enclosure, and to E of that there is a farm shed and bay for storing silage bales.
This enclosure was partly levelled at an unknown date in the past. It is not indicated on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps; it is visible in aerial imagery.
It is evident at ground level as a slightly raised circular area (26m N−S; 27m E−W) defined by a low, but clearly visible scarp (ext. H 0.3-0.4m), best defined at SE, SW and NW. The scarp is barely discernible at E (Wth 3m) and a portion has been levelled at SE−S (Wth 4m). A low undulation is visible c. 2m outside the enclosing scarp on the N side; this may be an outer bank, however, it is not fully concentric with the enclosure and cannot be traced around the full circuit; it may be the remnant of a later field division which skirted the enclosure.
The interior has a very slightly domed profile, more pronounced on the N−S axis.
Notified to NMS by Jean-Charles Caillère.
