The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, at the base of the S side of a high ridge, c. 40m N of the Douglas River. A slightly raised circular area (diam. 20m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.1m) N-SSW and by a slight scarp elsewhere. The bank is broken in places exposing earth and some stone. A NNE-SSW field boundary crosses the W half of the interior separating the levelled W half from the upstanding E half. Indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an embanked circular area while on the 1914 OS 6-inch map the W half is truncated by a field boundary.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
