The National Monuments Service's description

In rough grazing, amidst natural rock outcrops, on top of a ridge. A circular area (diam. 22m) enclosed by the remains of a bank or wall, now evident as the lower two or three courses of internal and external facing of limestone slabs (Wth c. 5m; int. H 1.3m; ext. H 1.2m). The interior is uneven and strewn with sod-covered stones. A slightly raised rectangular area (c. 10m x 6m) is roughly in the centre, immediately S of which is a hollow (4m x 3m). There is a souterrain (SL027-090002-) in the W half of the interior. There is a rock outcrop close to the wall in the E half.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
