The National Monuments Service's description

On a slightly raised area, in low-lying poorly drained pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 28m) defined by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank (Wth 6m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 2.1m) has internal stone facing and traces of external stone kerbing. The entrance (Wth c. 3m), which is at ESE, is obscured by overgrowth but is possibly stone-lined. The intervening fosse (Wth 2.5m) is evident all round. The external bank (Wth 6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m) is evident W-N. The interior is partially covered with overgrowth and bisected by a low N-S field boundary. There is a souterrain (SL027-037002-) in the S half of the interior. The perimeter of the rath is densely overgrown with trees and bushes.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
