The National Monuments Service's description
Wood-Martin (1887-8, 266) described 'an elaborately ornamented cinerary vessel [which] was found embedded in the ground, at a depth of 3 feet [0.91m]' not far from a cashel (SL026-141----). It was covered by a slab 'shaped like a millstone' and measured '3 5/8 inches [0.09m] in height and 51/4 inches [0.13m] in diameter across the mouth' and was 'dark brownish grey in colour' (ibid.). It is now in the National Museum of Ireland but where exactly it was found is not known. (Waddell 1990, 132)
