The National Monuments Service's description

In undulating pasture, straddling a break of an E-facing slope of a narrow ridge overlooking Fin Lough to SE. A slightly raised oval area (58.6m N-S; 48m E-W) enclosed by the remains of an earthen bank N-E, by a scarp E-S and by a curving field boundary (Wth 2.6m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 1.4m) S-N. The bank is evident only as a low rise (Wth c. 3m; H 0.15m). The scarp is highest (H 1.3m) E-SE, elsewhere it merges with the steep natural slope of the ridge. The interior slopes from the centre down to S and E and is level elsewhere. At N, close to the enclosing field boundary, a roughly circular area (diam. 7.5m; D 0.8m) has been quarried away.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
