The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, at a break of a NW-facing slope of a ridge. Raised roughly rectangular area (31.1m NE-SW; 37.6m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank on the SE, SW and NW sides and by a scarp on the NE side. The bank is best preserved on the NW side (Wth 6.1m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 3m) where it has a broad steeply sloping external face. On the SW side the bank is incorporated into a field boundary (Wth 2.4m). Some stones protrude from the inner face of the bank on the SE side. There is a gap (Wth c. 1m) at the SW end of the SE side, now flanked by two large unembedded stones set against the external face of the bank. A small quarry pit (5m x 10m) has been dug into the scarp at the SE end of the NE side. The interior is level. An irregular rise (Wth 5m; H 0.3-0.8m) c. 5m outside the bank at the N corner may be of recent origin. There is a disused field boundary immediately outside the enclosure on the SW side. A road (SL025-159----) lies c. 40m to SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
