The National Monuments Service's description
In undulating pasture, straddling the top of a narrow ridge. The north-easternmost of two conjoined raths (see SL025-067----). Slightly raised oval area (23.7m NW-SE; 30.3m NE-SW) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.4m) SW-SE, shared with the adjoining rath SW-W, and by a scarp (H 1.25m) SE-SW. The scarp SE-S is incorporated into the line of a field boundary and is faced with stones. There is a gap (Wth 1.2m) at NNE and another (Wth 1m) in the shared bank between the two raths. The interior which slopes gently down to S is covered in thistles. The perimeter is ringed with hawthorn bushes and extensively burrowed by rabbits.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
