The National Monuments Service's description
In rough grazing, at the base of a SE-facing slope. A slightly raised trapezoidal area (28.4m NNE-SSW; Wth at SSW end 23m; Wth at NNE end 11.5m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.4m; ext. H 0.6m). The bank is best evident at the SW and SE sides; elsewhere it is in poor condition and on the S side there is a very low eroded section (L 10m). The interior is level. There is a children's burial ground (SL025-027001-) in the SW quadrant. A slight rise was noted c. 2m outside the E side of the enclosure.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
