The National Monuments Service's description

In rough upland pasture on the lower slopes of the Ox Mountains, located on a small terrace scarped out of the S-facing slope of a natural hillock on the S bank of the Owenboy River. Forestry plantation adjacent to SE. Ruined, roughly circular stone-built structure (3.8m E–W; 3.5m N–S). The enclosing wall (Wth c. 1.2m) is constructed of local gneiss stones. Internally the wall appear to have a gentle inward slope towards the base. The interior space (diam. 1.3-1.4m) is partly filled with loose stone and obscured by sod and moss. Appended to the S side of the structure is a rectangular space (2.7m E–W; 1.2m N–S) enclosed on W and S by a wall and open on the E side. This appears to have served as a sheltered access to the circular structure. However, no clearly defined gap into the circular structure is evident. There is a booley hut (MA024-004----) located c. 60m to S.
