The National Monuments Service's description
In gently undulating pasture, bordering the S side of an area of marshy ground. A roughly circular platform (13m N-S; 13m E-W) encompassing a low rise, is defined by a scarp (H 0.8m at E; H 1.5m at W) which merges with a steep fall of ground NNW-NE. The top of the platform is level. The remains of a levelled field-boundary wall skirts the base of the platform at S. A rath (SL021-052----) lies c. 50m to ESE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
