The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on top of an E-W ridge. A slightly raised circular area (27.8m N-S; 28m E-W) defined by a stony scarp (H 0.7m). The scarp at E is topped by a stone bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1m) flanking the entrance (Wth 2.4m) and by a slight stony rise (Wth 1.3m) E-S. The interior is bisected E-W by a low S-facing scarp (H 0.7m) that appears to be the remains of an old field boundary, creating a split-level. A N-S post and wire fence crosses the interior centrally. Another rath (SL021-040001-) lies c. 100m to E at the E end of the same ridge.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
