The National Monuments Service's description
On a knoll in good pasture c. 150m E of Lough Dargan and c. 500m WSW of a court tomb (SL021-020----) at Carrownagh. The tomb stands in a low, oval mound (28m E-W; 12.5m N-S; max. H 1.5m). A largely destroyed full court (L 7.5m) at the E leads to a gallery (L 6m; max. Wth 2.7m). Two jambs define the entrance to the gallery and two more divide it into two chambers. The court is represented by five stones, one flanking each entrance jamb and three at its outer end. A gap between two of three outer stones may form the entrance to the court. A large stone standing on edge at the inner end of the court may have rested on the entrance jambs as a lintel. The gallery sides are intact save for a gap at the inner half of the N side of the front chamber. There are two displaced stones in this chamber. (Ó Nualláin 1989, 50-51, no. 78)
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
