The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on a low ridge. A large roughly oval area (c. 150m NNW-SSE; c. 120m ENE-WSW) defined by a drystone wall SSE-ENE which varies in thickness from NE (T 0.7m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1.6m) to SSE (T 1.4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.9m). In general, the base of this wall, which is composed of large stones at S and NW, retains the external face of a natural scarp. It has been rebuilt in places and retained as a field boundary but it is no longer evident ENE-SSE, though the section ENE-SE is indicated on the 1913 OS 6-inch map. The entrance (Wth 2.4m) is at ENE. The interior is under pasture broken by low rock outcrops. Most of the NW quadrant is divided off by a NE-SW wall; the ground to the NW of the dividing wall is higher than elsewhere and slopes very gently down to the S whilst over the remainder of the interior the slope is moderately steep. A cashel (SL020-171006-) abuts the edge of the enclosure at NE. A graveyard and a possible church site (SL020-171002-; SL020-171001-) and a standing stone (SL020-171004-) are in the SE quadrant. A holy well (SL020-171005-) lies c. 50m to the S.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
