The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a SSE-facing slope. Indicated by a broken line on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as a circular area truncated at E by a lane and abutting a field boundary at S. On the 1913 OS 6-inch map it is indicated by an arc of hachures NW-NNE in the NE corner of field. The S two-thirds of this cashel have been quarried away. Extant remains comprise of a raised D-shaped area (dims. c. 18m WNW-ESE), the straight S side (L c. 11.8m) of which is defined by a steep quarry face. From WSW-ESE the defining element is a low drystone wall which is greatly disturbed by deposits from the quarry. From ESE-SE there is a break in the wall.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
