The National Monuments Service's description

In level pasture. The ruin of a rectangular church (int. 12m E-W; 5.3m N-S) built of roughly coursed stonework, the walls (T c. 1m) of which are much reduced in height. Internally a short section of a cross-wall (H 0.3m; Wth 0.7m) extends 0.6m from the S wall, just W of the centre. The church was better preserved when described by O'Rorke (1878, 278-81), who noted an E window 'three feet [0.91m] high, the opening to the outside seeming to have been only four inches [0.1m], but with a splay on the inside of five or six feet [1.52-1.82m]'. He also described a window in the S wall with a square-headed light 'four inches [0.1m] wide to outside, but splayed internally to three feet [0.91m]'. The church was known as Kildalough church (O'Rorke [1889], vol. 2, 336-8). There is a possible graveyard (SL020-135002-) to the E.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
