The National Monuments Service's description
Listed in the SMR (1989) and RMP (1995) as a 'Cairn', the source of the information is unknown and there is no mention of any cairn in the site inspection. The national grid reference is the same as that for shell midden (SL020-109007-) and quern stone (SL020-109008-) at the site. An aerial photograph (CUCAP, ASX 65) taken in 1967 shows an oblong pile of stones in the field to the S of the original graveyard which may have been mistaken for a cairn. The 1914 OS 6-inch map shows a rectangular structure at this location. This area was reclaimed in the late 1980s (Timoney 2002, 149).
