The National Monuments Service's description
Timoney (1984, 322, no. 5) describes this as follows: ‘The total diameter of this barrow, sited on the crest of a glacial ridge, is 21m. A central platform, 6.60m in diameter and 70cm high, is surrounded by a fosse, 2.90m wide and 20cm deep and this in turn by a bank 1.70m wide by 25cm high. There is a bank, 2.50m wide and 60cm high, along part of the northern edge of the central platform. Parts of the west and south sides of this monument have been disturbed in antiquity and the break in the outer bank does not appear to be original. Land improvements in 1982 resulted in the destruction of the outer bank. Burenhult (1980, 94) lists this as Structure 26, Knocknahur North, recte Breeoge. It is within Phosphate Field XIV. Only very small increases of phosphate values were recorded (Burenhult 1980:1, 105).’
