The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, adjacent to a low rise. Recorded in 1836 as 'Cuilltilinead Holy Well (Cultiliney means the woods of Liney)' at which stations were prohibited by the priests due to 'some vice or misconduct' committed by those who visited it (OSNB vol. 1, 139). There are no visible remains of this well.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
