The National Monuments Service's description
In rough grazing, at the base of a N-facing slope of the Ox Mountains. A narrow oval rise (c. 12m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE), probably natural, is defined by a distinct scarp (H 1.2m) S-N and by a less well-defined scarp NE-SE. At NE the rise merges with the steep natural slope. The remains of a possible hut site (SL019-167002-) are slightly W of the centre of the interior. Remnants of a field boundary, on a N-S axis, lie immediately to E.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
