The National Monuments Service's description
At Carroward cashel (SL019-147001-). Within the W half of the interior are traces of a linear hollow (L 9.7m NNW-SSE; Wth. 1m - 2m; D 0.6m) with protruding stones visible in places. It was uncovered in 1958 and is described as comprising 'a deep passage roofed with slabs and entered by a rudimentary stone stairway' (Sligo Independent 19:04:1958).
