The National Monuments Service's description
Within a relatively large, modern field. Not marked on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. Identified from aerial photography. In the SW is a small D-shaped area (dims. 13m E-W; 10.6m N-S) bordered on the straight W side by a linear field wall and from N-E-S by a curving, sod-covered stony bank (Wth. 3m - 3.5m; int H 0.8m; ext H 0.2m - 0.6m. This feature has the designation 'Pound' on the 1837 edition of the OS 6-inch map. From here a narrow spine of raised ground, whose S side is defined by a scarp, extends for c.16m in an ENE direction. It then expands into another low E-W rise, extending S from which are the levelled remnants of a field wall. Irregular sod-filled quarry holes indicate that this rise has been disturbed or quarried. At the E end of the rise is a roughly circular (diam c.5m), sod-covered heap of field stones. To the W of this scarp is an area of wet ground bordered by a slight scarp. To the N a drain extends NW and then W across the field.
