The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture broken by limestone outcropping, located on a level terrace on the lower N- facing slopes of a large limestone hill which is named Red Hill on the 1913 OS 6-inch map. Roughly oval area (37m NNW–SSE; 29m WSW–ENE) enclosed by a low, sod-covered stony bank (Wth 1.5-2m; H 0.3-0.5m), with a gap (Wth 3m) at NE. At NNE–SE the external slope (H 0.7-0.8m) of the bank is more pronounced where it coincides with a natural E-facing fall of ground. At SE–S a section (L 20m) of the bank is linear rather than curving. The interior of the enclosure has a slight slope down to E and SE. There are several roughly circular or irregular-shaped sod-covered stony heaps (max. dims. 2-5m; H 0.3-0.5m) in the interior. These do not form any pattern and appear to be field clearance heaps. Relict field boundaries adjoin the enclosure at SW, NW, NE and SE, part of an extensive field system (SL019-008005-) on the hill.
