The National Monuments Service's description

Located on the S bank of a meandering stream, in a small valley, bordered to S by an expanse of blanket bog. It is situated in the NW corner of a pasture field which was reclaimed from the bog. There is a court tomb (SL018-076----) c. 40m to NE. The burnt mound is exposed in section at the junction of the E–W stream gully and a N–S field drain/property fence. It is visible as a layer (L c. 4m E-W; D 0.2m) of black, charcoal-rich soil incorporating small angular stones and charcoal fragments in the S side of the stream gully at a height of c. 1.5m above the stream. At the W end, the layer can be traced extending c. 3-4m to S in the side of a U-shaped cutting through the stream scarp, at the N end of the N–S field drain. A layer of peat (D 0.2-0.3m) overlies the burnt material. The outline of the mound can not be traced at ground surface.
