The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, located at the N edge of on a broad, low hill or elevation of dry, grass-covered ground, surrounded at NW–S by lowlying, heather and rush-grown boggy ground. A subcircular, or roughly square, grass-covered mound or platform (c. 5m NNW–SSE; 4m ENE–WSW; H 0.7-0.8m) defined around its perimeter at W, N and E by a scarp with a slightly raised rim on top, and incorporated on the S side into a relict earth and stone field boundary (SL017-097002-) which extends beyond the structure to WSW. Large stones protrude from the sod around the perimeter. On the W side and E sides the scarp appears somewhat irregular or indented. On the E side there is a roughly C-shaped indentation (1.4m NW–SE; c. 1m NE–SW) partly lined with stones. A single upright stone (H 0.5m), almost triangular in shape, protrudes from the relatively flat top of the platform at SW. The function and date of this structure is unclear. It may be the remains of some form of vernacular kiln, but it could be a cairn or even a hut site. There is another structure (SL017-098001-), an enclosure (SL017-098002-), a possible enclosure (SL017-098003-) and an unclassified cairn (SL017-099----) c. 100m to SE, towards the S side of the same hill.
