The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on top of a N-S ridge in pasture. Raised circular area (diam. 34.3m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 3.3-4.9m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 1.4m), with internal stone revetment, and an outer fosse (Wth 3m; ext. D 0.7m). From NW-N-NNE the bank has been incorporated into a later field boundary and a modern E-W trackway overlies the fosse. A partially blocked-up break (present Wth 6m) in bank, with accompanying causeway over the fosse, represents the original entrance. Built against the inner face of the bank at W is a possible house site (SL017-033002-). The OS Name Books (vol. 1, 460) recorded that this site was known locally as 'Rath Mic Corcaige' (MacCorkey's Rath). There is an enclosure (SL017-033003-) 8m to W.
