The National Monuments Service's description

This monument straddles the top of a narrow N-S ridge. At the W foot of the ridge is the Devlin River. Raised oval area (32m N-S; 31m E-W) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 4.3m; int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1.6m), whose inner face displays traces of internal stone kerbing, with an external fosse (Wth 2.2m). At the outer edge of the fosse is a second bank (Wth 3.8m; int. H 1.1m; ext. H 1.45m). Corresponding breaks (Wth. 3m) in the banks at Nw probably represents the original entrance. The centre of the enclosed area is artificially raised. There is a local tradition of a souterrain (SL016-055002-) in the interior.
