The National Monuments Service's description
At Carrowmore passage tomb cemetery. This megalithic structure was destroyed in the 19th century. When inspected by Petrie in 1837 it consisted only of a large stone, possibly 'the table stone of a cromleac’, and a few stones of an enclosing boulder circle (Stokes 1868, 246; No. 21). A single large gneiss boulder is now visible at the location, but it is uncertain if this formed part of the megalithic structure (Bergh 1995, 189, Carrowmore 21).
