The National Monuments Service's description
Located under the bank on NW side of Ardabrone cashel (SL013-055001-). Immediately outside the souterrain entrance, within cashel bank is a roughly semi-circular (2m NE-SW; 1.6m NW-SE; H 1.3m) walled area with the opening facing SE. The unmortared rubble limestone walling arches gently inwards at the top and is covered by a large limestone capstone (dims. 1.7m2; T 0.4m). The lintelled entrance (Wth 1.1m; H 0.3m) to the souterrain is located at the base of the wall on the SW side. The passage is orientated E-W and extends for 1.7m behind the entrance and is then blocked by what appears to be collapsed material. The sides of the passage are lined with unmortared limestone rubble walling.
