The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on slight rise in gently undulating pasture. Raised, roughly circular area (dims. 31m E-W; 35m N-S) enclosed by a substantial bank of earth and stone (Wth 7.55m; int. H 0.45m) with a fosse (Wth 5.2m) and an external bank of earth and stone (Wth 2.65; int. H 1.4m). A break (Wth 4m) in the internal bank at ESE, with a causeway across the fosse and a corresponding gap (Wth 8m) in the external bank, marks the position of the original entrance. Two linear quarries are located on the SE side of the site; one at the inner foot of the internal bank and one in the base of the fosse. The site is divided into two equal portions by an E-W drystone field wall. The remains of a souterrain (SL013-015002-) extends from the inner face of the internal bank at W.
