The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on a naturally-occurring rise in pasture. Raised oval area (29.6m E-W; 26.8m N-S) enclosed by a substantial earthen bank (Wth 6m; int. H 0.8m; ext. H 3.1m, at N) with a wide, deep external fosse (Wth 3.5m). At the outer lip of the fosse is a second bank (Wth 5.3m; int. H 1.5m; ext. H 2m). At the outer foot of the second bank is a wide space (Wth 5m), probably an infilled fosse. At its outer edge at N and E is a modern field boundary, possibly an adaptation of a third bank. This has been levelled at S and W. A break (Wth 3m) in the inner bank at E, with a corresponding break (Wth 2m) in outer bank, represents the original entrance. Stones protruding from the inner face of the inner bank may be remnants of a facing or kerb. There is a local tradition of a souterrain (SL012-071002-) in the interior of the rath. There is a mound (SL012-071003-) c. 30m SSE of the rath.
