The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the top of a broad low hill. Ground falls away gently towards the Ballybeg River c. 100m to E. The location provides extensive views of the surrounding gently undulating coastal pastureland, with the sea visible in the distance to N, the Ox Mountains on the skyline to SE, and Nephin Mountain and the Nephin Beg range visible on the far horizon to SW. A low, roughly D-shaped earthen mound (14m N–S; 10m E–W) which may originally have been circular. It has a gently domed profile, with a slightly flattened top which grades gently into broadly sloping sides (H 0.6m at S, 1.3m at W and N) at SE–N. The straight side is at E. Here the slope is very shallow and grades seamlessly into the surrounding ground level so that the limits of the mound on this side are difficult to define. It is not shown on OS 6-inch maps but the location is marked as a trigonometrical station (145 feet OD) on 1913 edition. Immediately to SSW of the mound there is a large enclosure (SL011-032----). Fragmentary remains of a field system (SL011-032002-) can be traced across the hill.
