The National Monuments Service's description
Listed in the SMR (1989) and classified 'Dwelling'. Not included in the RMP (1995). Craig and Garner (1973) recorded it thus: '1m [mile] W of Easky. To north of Castletown House (only walls of yard standing). Ruin of gabled house abandoned after tidal wave in 1839. Possibly 17th century.' No building is shown immediately to N of Castletown House on the 1837 and 1913 OS 6-inch maps. A number of buildings are shown to NW but it is uncertain which of these represents the house recorded by Craig and Garner. Upon inspection in 2000 (SMR file) no surviving remains were identified. However the fieldworkers noted that the walls of the yard of 'Castletown House' were of 18th century date.
