The National Monuments Service's description

This souterrain was discovered in 2002 when workmen displaced a roof stone while undertaking ground clearance works in advance of the construction of a house. The exposed hole revealed a souterrain chamber of drystone construction, roofed by stone lintels. The polygonal-shaped chamber (2.4m NW–SE; 2.2m NE–SW; H c. 2m) has a narrow lintelled opening at its SE end which leads to a short passage (L 1.5m NW–SE) on the same alignment as the chamber. A narrow opening at the S corner of this passage leads into a second passage (L 6m NE-SW; Wth c. 1m), which extends at right angles to SW. Roughly mid-way along the SE wall of this passage there is a blocked up creepway (Wth 0.45m; H 0.4m). At its SW end, the second passage opens into a third passage (Wth c. 0.9m) which extends at right angles to it for c. 3.2m to SE. The souterrain underlies the house and a modern road which fronts the E side of the house.
