The National Monuments Service's description
There is a souterrain at Cashelgarran rath (Sl005-106001-). It is situated within the enclosing bank at the NE side, immediately to the SE of a modern break in the bank. The lintelled entrance (Wth 1m; H 1.5m) is blocked with rubble stone. The sides of the souterrain are lined with un-coursed rubble drystone walling with roof lintels of limestone slabs. The souterrain extends SE from the entrance and a vent, or simply a collapsed lintel, is visible in the top of the bank 2m to the SE of the entrance as a hole (dims. 0.7m by 0.7m) blocked with rubble stone.
