The National Monuments Service's description

This site is located in the industrial peatlands of Cornafulla Bog. It was first recorded in the 2013 Reassessment Peatland Survey as a togher, and was located in a W-facing drain face sighting 0.15m below the field surface (Whitaker 2014). On excavation in 2016 (licence 15E0186), it was revealed to be a brushwood and roundwood platform, measuring a maximum of 2.04x1.04m. The site was dated to cal. 174 BC-AD 2 (UBA 26653).

The platform was excavated in a single cutting measuring 5x2m. It was overlain and underlain by moderately humified Sphagnum peat. The platform was composed of NE-SW orientated birch brushwood and two ash roundwood elements. All elements were in poor condition and some were machine-damaged. A simple birch peg with a chisel-point end was found, measuring 0.05m (diam.) and 0.51m in length.
