The National Monuments Service's description

A house is marked at Cam on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949, Athlone (176)). It was not encountered in the field, unless it is (RO048-194----). Cam and the unknown Caher, amounting to 597 acres, were owned by the Bishop of Elphin, but most of this land was rented by Donnell O Dollan, who was probably related to James Dolan of Cloghan castle (RO044-055----). The bishop retained the land in the 1660s (ibid. 100).
