The National Monuments Service's description

Visible on aerial photographs (GSIAP: M 469-8), and situated on the crest of a small N-S esker ridge. Circular overgrown earthen mound (diam. of base 14.9m N-S; 14.8m E-W; H 1.8m) which is slightly truncated NE-SE, with a silted fosse (at SW: Wth of top 4m; max. D 0.6m) SSW-W-NNE (max. ext. diam. 23m). Archaeological testing (04E0458) immediately to the NE in Gortnasythe produced no related archaeological material (Rooney 2007b).
