The National Monuments Service's description
Six houses at Knockcroghery are shown on a Crofton estate map of 1777 in NLI ms. 19,672(20), and one building is shown on the Strafford map of c. 1636 (Simington 1949, Athlone). This (Strafford) building was not encountered.
