The National Monuments Service's description
The early church that became an Augustinian abbey (RO037-001001-) is situated on low-lying ground c. 1.5km W of the River Shannon, and c. 2.5km N of Lough Ree. The church remains are at the S end of an oval graveyard (dims c. 100m N-S; c. 60m E-W) defined by a masonry wall. Architectural fragments (RO037-001017-) are largely displayed at the church but the cross-slabs and cross-inscribed stones that were collected from the graveyard during a clean-up c. 1990 are displayed at a small enclosure with an altar against the graveyard wall at W and around a style through the graveyard wall at N.
