The National Monuments Service's description

At St Patrick's well (RO034-080010-), c. 80m W of Oran church (RO034-080001-) and on the W side of N-S section of the N 60 road. A limestone Latin cross (H 0.8m; Span 0.5m; T 0.2m) on a drystone plinth (dims 1.3m x 1.4m; H 0.4m) SW of the well has an incised inscription and the date1729 on one face, while the socket of a finial cross (RO034-080013-) is on the bank around the well at the roadside (Mullin 1987).
The cross is inscribed: PRAY FOR THE SOUL OF / CATHERINE O / CONNOR AF (T)IR / DERMOTROE / WHO CAUSES / Ye MONUMENT / TO BE MADE IN / HONNOUR OF / GOD & S / PATRICK / 1729
