The National Monuments Service's description

On the River Shannon just below Termonbarry. A weir worth 8 shilings at Aghnegore, Co. Longford, was granted to Patrick Fox of Dublin in 1607 (Cal. Pat. Rolls Irl. James 1, 114). This may have been located where the present weir is situated just below Termonbarry Bridge.
