The National Monuments Service's description
Towards the bottom of an E-facing slope, c. 50m N of a SW-NE stream running into Lough Shad, which is c. 1.2 km to the ENE. Circular grass-covered area (diam. 30.9m NNE-SSW) defined by an earthen bank (at NNE: Wth 2.4m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 0.5m) and rounded fosse (at NNE: Wth of top 7.4m; Wth of base 5.2m; D 0.25m) WNW-N-ESE. It is bisected by a WNW-ESE field bank and drain, which formed the townland boundary with Bushfield in 1837 (OS 6-inch map). The perimeter is incorporated into a field bank and hedge (at SSW: Wth 4.3m; ext. H 1.2m) with an inner drain (Wth of base 1m; int. D 0.25m) ESE-W. There is no identifiable original entrance.
