The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the crest of a low NW-SE ridge. The church listed as Clonkasa in the ecclesiastical taxation of Elphin in 1306 (Cal. doc. Ire., vol. 5, 224) could be the children's burial ground (RO026-052001-). Land at Clonecouse amounting to 63 acres was described as church land held by the bishop of Elphin in 1641 (Simington 1949, 12). The bullaun stone (RO026-053----) is c. 100m to the SE.
