The National Monuments Service's description

Marked as a circular embanked copse (ext. diam c. 35m) on the 1837 and 1929 eds of the OS 6-inch map, and situated on the crest of a low NW-SE ridge. Described in 1974 as a circular platform (diam. c. 40m) planted with trees on the perimeter (SMR file). It is now occupied by a golf clubhouse, and was probably a tree-ring.
