The National Monuments Service's description

At the SE edge of a bog between two hillocks that are c. 60m apart. A number of split timbers (Wth c. 0.2-0.3m; T c. 0.05-0.1m) in a gravel matrix were exposed in cut-away bog in an area of c. 4 square m during 2005. The timbers were aligned NW-SE and would have run NE-SW between the two hills.
