The National Monuments Service's description

Marked only on the 1914 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated towards the top of the E-facing slope of a NNE-SSW ridge at its N end. A natural shelf of rock outcrop (H 1.2m) with a small wooden cross where a commemorative Mass was celebrated on the last Sunday of August up to the 1980s. (Coyle 1994, 17-19)
