The National Monuments Service's description
Marked as a circular feature (daim. c. 40m) with trees on the perimeter only on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and situated just off the N-facing slope of an WNW-ESE drumlin ridge. Described in 1995 as a circular grass-covered area (diam. 41m N-S; 37.5m E-W) sloping down to the N (H of slope 2.6m) defined by an earthen bank (Wth 3.7-5m; int. H 0.6-1.2m; ext. H 0.9-1m) ENE-SW and a scarp (H 0.2-0.8m) elsewhere, with a fosse (Wth of top 8.8m; Wth of base 4m; D 0.7m) SE-SW. There was no identifiable entrance, and the interior was overlain by N-S field bank W of centre with another N-S field bank outside the perimeter at E. The perimeter ENE-SW has since been removed.
