The National Monuments Service's description

On a NE-SW ridge on the N-facing slope of Rathcroghan. Called 'Rathscreg' on the 1837 and 1914 eds of the OS 6-inch map, but correctly as 'Courtmoyle' on the 1927 ed. Described as a rectangular area (dims c. 66m N-S; c. 30m E-W) defined by scarps (Knox 1914a, 18-9). It may have been a field bordering the roadway (RO022-056033-) just to the W. It is visible as a circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on an aerial photograph (CUCAP: AVI 20, 21; Waddell 1983, 39, Pl. 17, No. 36), and is barely visible as a circular grass-covered area (diam. 30m E-W; 28m N-S) defined by slight scarps at N and S (H 0.3m) and a quarry at W. Archaeological testing (04E1187) c. 60m to the NW failed to produce any related archaeological material (Henry 2007), and testing (06E0622) c. 100m to the NE had similar results (Timoney 2009).

This is a National Monument in state ownership: No. 294.
